COVID-19 and Pivotal Counseling

The safety and health of our clients and staff are incredibly important. To that end, Pivotal Counseling complies with all public health orders and guidance from our attorneys, malpractice insurance carriers, licensing boards, and government organizations. Thankfully, with the wide availability of vaccines and the mutations of the virus resulting in it becoming less lethal than it has been previously, we have been able to take a much more relaxed approach to our response. Here is what we are doing for and asking of our clients.

In-Person Sessions

We have resumed generally seeing clients in-office. However, each clinician has their own schedule of in-office vs online availability. When attending in-person sessions, please adhere to the following guidelines.

Masks

Clients who are not fully vaccinated are asked to wear a mask. Fully vaccinated clients are welcome to not wear masks. We respect clients' choices to vaccinate or not and provide our services to people regardless of their vaccination status. We expect clients to show the same courtesy and respect in following these policies of their own accord and therefore do not require proof of vaccination.

Handwashing

We ask that clients wash their hands or use the hand-sanitizer provided in the waiting are before attending their session. Our clinicians wash their hands throughout the day.

Monitoring of Health

We ask the same from our clients that we ask of our clinicians. Everyone is asked to please pay attention to their health to ensure they are not attending in-person sessions while ill. If a clinician or client feels a bit “off” but does not appear to have any notable symptoms, they are asked to wear a mask when meeting in-person. If they do have symptoms but are not so sick as to warrant cancelling sessions, in-person sessions are not appropriate and the session will be changed to a Telehealth session.

Online Services

Prior to COVID, meeting online was rarity with many people unfamiliar and even uncomfortable with that mode of meeting. In the years since, online meetings have become a normal, sometimes even preferred, way of meeting for many people.

We offered online services prior to COVID and will continue to do so whether that is due to concerns about health or simple convenience. To learn more about how our online services work, please check our Televideo Services page.
